•Partner (Subclass 820 and 801)
The Partner visa (subclass 820 and 801) is for people who seek to live in Australia with an eligible partner who also happens to be the sponsor for them. This is a two-stage process where you need to apply for the subclass 820 (Provisional) and subclass 801 (Permanent).
The key eligibility requirements are:

One must be married or in a de facto relationship with an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand.
One’s relationship must be proven to be an exclusive, committed, genuine and continuing relationship.
One’s relationship must be able to prove, cumulatively, that you and your partner meet the following four factors:
- Joint financial aspects of the relationship.
- Join nature of the household arrangement.
- The social aspects of the relationship.
- The nature of the couple’s commitment to one another.
For couples who are in a de facto relationship the law stipulates that the length of the relationship must be at least of 12 months duration. However, there are exceptions to this requirement including when the relationship has been registered under a law of a State or Territory prescribed in relevant legislation.
One must meet health and character requirements.

• Prospective Marriage (Subclass 300)
The Prospective Marriage visa is for people seeking to enter Australia and marry their prospective spouse. This provisional allows you to stay in Australia for nine months to marry your partner.
The key eligibility requirements are:

You and your fiancé must have a genuine intention to marry within the 9 months validity period of the visa.
One must have met in person and are known to one another
One must genuinely intend to live together as spouses
One will have to apply for an onshore Partner visa (subclass 820 & 801) once you have married
One must meet health and character requirements.
